Brighton UCU exists to protect its members' interests; above all their jobs and terms of emploment. The Coordinating Committee negotiates with the University’s Senior Management Team on behalf of all Academic and Research Staff.

Regular branch meetings are held for all UCU members to express their views and influence local union policy. Branch meetings also contain regular updates about local and national issues.
